Eckert Seamans Announces 2022 Attorney Promotions

Eckert Seamans is pleased to announce that 11 attorneys have been promoted to member (partner). The newly elected members are as follows: Nicholas F. Borsuk (Pittsburgh), Samuel M. Franklin (Philadelphia), Jessica A. Glajch (Washington D.C.), Eli Granek (Philadelphia), Alexander T. Marriott (Washington D.C.), Kristi Panduku (Boston), Jeffrey E. Robb (Pittsburgh) Alexandra Rogin (Philadelphia/Wilmington), Tricia S. Springer (Harrisburg), Shane D. Valenzi (Pittsburgh), and Susan A. Yocum (Harrisburg).

Nick Borsuk practices in commercial litigation. He has a broad range of litigation skills in the areas of financial services, product liability, oil & gas, and tort defense.  Within financial services, Nick handles matters involving complex residential foreclosures as well as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.  Within the area of product liability, Nick has experience defending actions asserting claims under the Pennsylvania Lemon Law, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. 

Sam Franklin represents real estate developers, landlords, tenants, and banks, and advises government agencies, community groups, as well as nonprofits on real estate-related matters. His practice encompasses all stages of a real estate investment project, including acquisition and sale, new construction, finance transactions, leasing, and zoning approvals and appeals. Sam’s real estate practice also assists clients on matters of corporate governance and tax efficiency, and helps coordinate with financiers, government bodies, design and construction professionals, and other consultants and service providers.

Jessica Glajch focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including financial services, product liability, aviation, employment, insurance coverage, and commercial landlord-tenant disputes.  She has extensive experience handling matters in numerous state and federal courts.  She has advised and represented clients through all stages of litigation, including pre-suit evaluation, discovery disputes, dispositive motions, and trial.  She has also advised clients on regulatory and corporate compliance matters.

Eli Granek works closely with clients in a range of industries to help them achieve their business objectives, identify and navigate potential risks, and, when necessary, prevail in litigation. In the corporate and commercial context, Eli has helped clients resolve vendor disputes, collect unpaid invoices, obtain insurance coverage from third parties, and enforce contractual provisions relating to non-solicitation, competition, and indemnification. He also has significant experience representing companies in litigation involving fraud, securities fraud, and breaches of contract in connection with merger, acquisition, and licensing agreements. A member of the Firm’s Mass Tort Litigation Group, Eli also represents consumer-product companies, pharmaceutical companies, raw-material suppliers, contractors, employers, and property owners against claims involving product liability, mass torts, and exposures to various chemicals and substances, including benzene, asbestos, and talc.

Alex Marriott is a member in Eckert Seamans’ Aviation Group, focusing on aviation regulatory and policy matters and competition issues within the aviation industry. Alex counsels and represents airlines, airports, and related industries on a wide range of matters before the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of State (DOS).

Kristi Panduku concentrates his practice in the areas of business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and real estate matters.  Kristi advises individuals and businesses on such matters as corporate organizations, asset and stock sales and purchases, corporate mergers, equity and debt financings, and corporate governance issues.  Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Kristi practiced at a boutique law firm outside of Boston, focusing on corporate transactions and commercial real estate transactions.

Jeff Robb, a former certified public accountant, assists clients with business, financial and legal issues arising in the hospitality industry. He has wide-ranging experience in the acquisition, development, financing and disposition of hotels, resorts and branded residences.  He assists investors with the purchase and sale of hotels, including navigating the intricacies of brand, manager and lender relationships.  Jeff negotiates management, franchise and operating agreements as well as technical and consulting services agreements and similar documents on behalf of hotel owners and managers.

Alexandra D. Rogin focuses her practice on litigation, including professional negligence, products liability, class actions, and corporate and commercial matters involving breach of contract, business torts, financial services, fraud, and real estate. Alexandra’s practice includes a particular emphasis on the representation of businesses, health care providers, physicians, and medical innovators in complex legal actions. She is involved in all areas of case management and phases of litigation. She has handled matters and argued before both trial and appellate level state and federal courts.

Tricia Springer concentrates her practice in labor and employment matters, administrative law, and civil litigation. Tricia has an extensive practice representing governmental agencies and private parties in connection with the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law and educational institutions in connection with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act. 

Shane Valenzi is a member in the Commercial Litigation practice group, focusing his practice on a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including fiduciary duty claims, oil and gas litigation, construction litigation, business divorce disputes, and intellectual property litigation.  He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and Illinois.  He is also a frequent author and lecturer on copyright law, and maintains an active presence in the Pittsburgh arts community, serving as Chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Committee on Arts and the Law.

Susan Yocum focuses her practice in the areas of hospitality, municipal and employment law. She advises employers on labor and employment matters including employee termination, discipline, contract negotiation, grievance resolution and arbitration and has experience successfully litigating unemployment compensation and discrimination cases. Susan also has experience with regulated industries, administrative law and civil litigation.
