Eckert Seamans Promotes Eight Attorneys to Partnership Across Firm Platform

National law firm Eckert Seamans has promoted eight attorneys across member (partner) tiers, including one to equity membership, one from senior attorney to special member, and six from associate to special member, effective June 1, 2025. The firm’s newly promoted attorneys represent a diverse range of practice groups including aviation, cybersecurity, energy and utilities, intellectual property, labor & employment, litigation, and real estate.

Member David Meredith has joined Eckert Seamans’ Equity Membership tier. Meredith is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, where he focuses his practice on complex construction disputes, representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, and material and equipment suppliers, in numerous federal and state court lawsuits, arbitrations, and mediations throughout the United States.
Douglas J. Seftas has been promoted from Senior Attorney to Special Member. He is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, where he concentrates his practice on general civil litigation with a particular emphasis on electronic discovery, mass tort litigation, and product liability matters. Seftas represents Fortune 500 companies and clients in complex litigation matters and advises on e-discovery and information management issues.
The newly promoted Associates to Special Members include:
Lauren M. Burge is based in Pittsburgh, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of energy, utilities, and telecommunications. She represents clients in a variety of state regulatory proceedings primarily before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, including base rate cases, consumer complaint cases, energy efficiency and demand-side management proceedings, universal service proceedings, and rulemakings, as well as other regulatory compliance and policy advocacy matters.
Laura A. Decker practices in the firm’s Philadelphia office, with a focus on cybersecurity and data privacy matters. She represents organizations of all sizes and from all sectors in responding to, and investigating, data privacy and security incidents. Decker works closely with forensic investigators to evaluate the scope of the incident, all while counseling the organization on its data breach notification requirements under state, federal and international law, as well as any contractual duties.
Brett C. Flower is based in the firm’s Harrisburg office. She is a member of the labor & employment practice group, focusing on advising municipal and public sector clients on all matters of operations. She has extensive experience advising on administrative law, representing municipalities, Commonwealth agencies, and private clients, often before the Pennsylvania appellate courts.
Andrew P. Orr practices from the Washington, D.C. office, focusing on aviation regulatory matters. He assists clients in administrative proceedings and enforcement actions before various federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and others.
Andrew K. Schwabenbauer is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, where he concentrates his practice on real estate law, including the complex business and legal issues surrounding the oil and gas industry. He handles a broad range of real estate matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, and large-scale due diligence projects.
Jenna P. Torres practices in Philadelphia and is a member of the intellectual property practice group. She focuses on the prosecution and litigation of trademarks in the U.S. and internationally, helping clients both large and small build and protect their trademark portfolios around the world.
