Eckert Seamans Names Practice Leaders for Intellectual Property, Commercial Litigation, and Product Liability Groups

National law firm Eckert Seamans has appointed new leadership for the firm’s Intellectual Property, Commercial Litigation, and Product Liability practices, effective June 12, 2024. Member Mark Vogelbacker will serve as Intellectual Property Chair, Members Frank Emmerich and Gabriel Dym will serve as Co-Chairs for Commercial Litigation, and Member Adam Shienvold will serve as Product Liability Chair.

Mark T. Vogelbacker is based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, where he focuses his practice on patent and trademark procurement in the United States and abroad. He advises clients on intellectual property licensing, enforcement, and infringement clearance, including trademark, copyright, and domain name disputes, as well as Inter Partes Review proceedings. Vogelbacker has a technical background in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts and has previous experience working as an engineer at General Dynamics and as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Frank R. Emmerich Jr. also serves as Co-Member-In-Charge of Eckert Seamans’ Philadelphia office, where he focuses his practice in complex commercial litigation, specifically in matters involving trade secrets and unfair competition, restrictive covenants, and intellectual property. His emphasis on early strategic development of a case and experience in implementing it in the courtroom is sought by large companies, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and individuals facing complex commercial concerns.

Gabriel T. Dym also serves as Vice-Member-In-Charge of the firm’s Boston office. He has significant first chair experience in all phases of complex litigation, representing corporate and individual clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, administrative proceedings, and at arbitration and mediation. Dym counsels businesses in state and federal government investigations, including those conducted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, among several others. 

Adam M. Shienvold is based in Eckert Seamans’ Harrisburg office. He focuses his practice on civil litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on commercial and business litigation; regulatory, administrative, and municipal litigation; product liability litigation, and personal injury defense. Shienvold also utilizes his more than 25 years of experience practicing in Central Pennsylvania and his involvement in the community as local counsel for matters pending in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.
