Eckert Seamans Attorneys Elected to Officer Positions of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Public Utility Law Section

Three attorneys from national law firm Eckert Seamans have been elected to officer positions of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Public Utility Law Section for the 2023-2024 term. Sarah C. Stoner will serve as Chairperson of the Section, Lauren M. Burge will serve as Vice Chairperson, and Bryce R. Beard will serve as Secretary.

The goal of the Public Utility Law Section is to further the development and practical working of the law of the Commonwealth and of the United States relating to public utilities. Stoner, Burge, and Beard will work together to continue to grow the Section’s membership; promote the Utility Bar’s initiatives, community service, and events; and further the Section’s impact and encouragement of collegiality among attorneys who practice Public Utility Law in Pennsylvania.

Stoner is a Harrisburg-based Member with Eckert Seamans. She has a broad-based regulatory practice, with an emphasis on public utility law and gaming law. Stoner also has extensive experience assisting clients with license applications before regulatory bodies, contested enforcement matters, rulemaking proceedings, and regulatory reviews.

Burge is a Pittsburgh-based Associate who focuses her practice in the areas of utilities and telecommunications matters. She assists clients with administrative proceedings, regulatory compliance, and policy advocacy.

Beard is a Harrisburg-based Associate who focuses his practice on administrative litigation predominately before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission representing utilities, including electric and natural gas distribution, electric and natural gas suppliers, water and wastewater, and transportation.
