June 12, 2025

The Construction practice at national law firm Eckert Seamans has been recognized in The Legal 500 United States 2025 edition. The guide named the firm among national leaders in the category of Construction (including Construction Litigation) and Member Scott D. Cessar as a ‘Leading Partner,’ one of only 19 lawyers across the United States recognized in the category.

The Legal 500 is a comprehensive research guide that highlights the practice area teams and attorneys who are providing the most cutting edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel around the world. Research is based on feedback from more than 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms, and interviews with leading private practice lawyers.

This year’s edition says the Eckert Seamans Construction team “‘goes the extra mile’ in representing owners, developers, contractors, suppliers, and design professionals in all construction phases and associated litigation.”

Scott Cessar serves as Chief Executive Officer of Eckert Seamans, where he maintains an active litigation and counseling practice representing several publicly traded companies and numerous privately held companies in litigation across the country. He handles all types of construction related issues on behalf of owners, contractors, equipment suppliers, and sureties, ranging from delay, impact, loss of productivity, defective work, and differing site conditions to architectural and engineering omissions, bid and procurement challenges, and overcharges. In addition to Cessar, other key lawyers from the practice recommended in the guide include Practice Chair Timothy Grieco, Litigation Division Chair Christopher Opalinski, Members Scott Bowan and David Meredith, and Associate Gerard Hornby.

Eckert Seamans’ Construction practice provides comprehensive legal services representing public and private owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, and bonding companies on a variety of matters. Attorneys in the group hold a wide range of experience on various projects of national and international scope and prominence. The practice was also recently recognized among leaders in the Chambers USA 2025 guide.
