Mark A. Peterson Joins Eckert Seamans as Firmwide Chief Financial Officer

National law firm Eckert Seamans is pleased to announce the arrival of Mark A. Peterson to serve as firmwide Chief Financial Officer, effective December 20, 2024. Peterson brings more than 20 years of experience in the finance and technology sectors, having most recently served as Global Director of Financial Intelligence at Reed Smith LLP.

Peterson has extensive experience advising on the financial, analytical, and technological aspects of the legal industry, having served in various financial systems and project management roles at Reed Smith since 2003. In his most recent role as Global Director of Financial Intelligence, he established and led the firm’s Financial Intelligence Unit, a multi-disciplinary team that delivers interactive financial dashboards and insights to firm leadership and attorneys, as well as served as Chair of the firm’s Enterprise Data Strategy team. Prior to joining the legal industry, Peterson also held budgeting and operations roles at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Reese Brothers Inc.

As firmwide Chief Financial Officer at Eckert Seamans, Peterson will oversee all aspects of the firm’s financial operations and serve as a key business advisor to firm leadership to ensure the firm operates efficiently. He holds a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Robert Morris University.
