Eckert Seamans Member Michael O’Brien Appointed President, Associate Sarah Boutros Appointed Secretary of The Federal Bar Association for Eastern District of PA

Michael J. O’Brien, a Philadelphia-based Member with national law firm Eckert Seamans, has been appointed President of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Joining him in leadership, Associate Sarah Boutros, also based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, will serve as Secretary.

As President of the chapter, O’Brien will lead efforts to strengthen the federal legal community and promote the interests of lawyers and judges in the Eastern District. As Secretary, Boutros will oversee the organization’s documentation, correspondence, and record keeping, among other duties.

“It’s an honor to serve as President as we work to promote and expand the Eastern District of PA Chapter,” said O’Brien. “I look forward to working alongside Sarah and our other dedicated members to strengthen the legal community, support federal practitioners and the judiciary, and to increase opportunities for professional development and collaboration.”

O’Brien focuses his practice on commercial and other high-stakes civil litigation. He serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and Chairs the firm’s Summer Associate program.

Boutros focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including matters involving business, finance, real estate, and construction disputes.

The Federal Bar Association is dedicated to the advancement of the legal profession and to promoting the interests and professional development of the federal judiciary and attorneys involved in federal practice. The organization provides members unique opportunities to engage with fellow attorneys, work closely with federal judges, and participate in CLE programs, among other benefits.
