Eckert Seamans Member Jack McGinley Recognized with 2023 Leadership in For-Profit Company Governance Award by NACD Three Rivers Chapter

John R. “Jack” McGinley, Jr., an Eckert Seamans Pittsburgh-based Member, will be recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Three Rivers Chapter with the 2023 Leadership in For-Profit Company Governance Award. He will be honored today, along with the other honorees, at the Director of the Year Awards Gala in Pittsburgh.

McGinley is a trial attorney with more than 45 years of experience concentrating his practice on corporate, business, real estate, and professional liability matters. He previously served as Chair of Eckert Seamans’ Board of Directors. Additionally, McGinley has served in the public sector as an assistant district attorney of Allegheny County, and co-founded Grogan, Graffam, McGinley & Lucchino, P.C. before joining Eckert Seamans in 2002.

McGinley currently serves as chair of Duquesne University’s board of directors; an emeritus trustee at St. Bonaventure University, where he also previously chaired the board of trustees; chair of the Rita McGinley Foundation; and chair of The Pittsburgh Foundation. He is also the former board chair of Pittsburgh Mercy Hospital; former chair of the Independent Regulatory Review Commission of Pennsylvania for nearly 20 years; and served on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania for six years.

Other accolades for McGinley include being honored with the 2022 Coleman Award for Excellence in Community Service by The University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics; inducted into Duquesne University’s Century Club of Distinguished Alumni; and inducted into Central Catholic High School’s Hall of Fame, among many others. He is a recipient of The Professionalism Award from the Civil Division of the Allegheny County Bar Association and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. McGinley will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Legal Intelligencer in June.
