Eckert Seamans Continues Princeton Office Growth with Addition of Commercial Litigation Member Joao Magalhaes

National law firm Eckert Seamans has welcomed Joao F. Magalhaes as a Member in the Commercial Litigation practice group. He joins the firm’s Princeton office from Connell Foley LLP.

“Joao brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of success in complex commercial litigation matters,” said Frank Emmerich Jr., Co-Chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. “His deep understanding of commercial disputes and strategic approach to client advocacy make him a valuable addition to our growing team in Princeton and to our national litigation practice.”

Magalhaes has extensive experience advising on matters involving commercial litigation, corporate law, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, and general counseling. He has represented clients in federal and state civil actions and appeals involving contractual matters, shareholder disputes, uniform commercial codes, regulatory compliance, foreign judgments, and professional malpractice. Magalhaes has also advised on corporate matters including entity formation and structuring, equity sales and buybacks, labor and employment matters, and insurance coverage concerns. He holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.A. from Villanova University.

Magalhaes’ arrival follows the earlier additions of several Princeton-based attorneys to the firm this year, including Michael Posavetz, Jason Harness, and Anthony D’Elia.
