Eckert Seamans Announces Leadership Transition

April 27, 2018

Eckert Seamans announced that Timothy Q. Hudak will serve as sole Chief Executive Officer to consolidate executive management responsibilities after operating with Co-CEOs for the past year. Hudak and Dorothy A. Davis served Eckert Seamans as collaborative CEOs during a transitional period for the firm.

Hudak is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operations. Davis will continue as a voting member of the firm’s Executive Committee, where she will focus her efforts on strategic planning initiatives. She will continue to serve on the firm’s Board of Directors and Compensation Committee and as chair of the Financial Services Litigation practice. Davis will assume additional leadership roles, both as chair of the Eckert Seamans Charitable Foundation and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

“Tim and Dot did exactly what we needed, which was to steer the firm through a leadership transition, while forming and executing a solid strategy for going forward,” said John R. (Jack) McGinley, chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Eckert Seamans is exceptionally fortunate to have benefited from their leadership, energy, and vision as Co-CEOs.”

McGinley added that the firm had another great year, has continued to develop the next generation of practice leaders, and sustained growth through the acquisition of lateral talent, most notably with significant additions to the municipal finance practice in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, forming the strongest public finance presence in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
