Eckert Seamans announces 2018 attorney promotions

Eckert Seamans is pleased to announce that seven attorneys have been promoted to Member (partner), effective May 1, 2018. The newly elected Members include: Patrick M. Brannigan (Wilmington, DE), Kevin W. Fay (Philadelphia, PA), Robert J. Gastner (Washington, D.C.), Kelly Robreno Koster (White Plains, NY), Morgan R. McCord (White Plains, NY), Heather R. Olson (Philadelphia, PA), and Eric A. Sauter (White Plains, NY).

Patrick M. Brannigan (Wilmington) focuses his practice on mass tort and general litigation matters, managing all aspects of litigation from inception to completion. He has represented clients in all courts in the state of Delaware, including the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, Justice of the Peace Courts, and Court of Chancery. He has effectively and aggressively defended his clients at depositions, throughout discovery disputes and in motions practice.

Kevin W. Fay (Philadelphia) concentrates his practice in complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice and other professional liability matters as well as product liability and commercial litigation. He has represented and advised a wide range of clients, from large multi-national corporations to individual consumers. Fay has worked on complex class actions and mass tort litigation involving a variety of industries where he has gained a wealth of pre-trial, trial, and appellate experience in both state and federal courts.

Robert J. Gastner (Washington, D.C.) assists telecommunications, energy, and technology companies with regulatory compliance and transactional matters. His clients include IP telephony service providers, local exchange carriers, interexchange carriers, Internet access providers, competitive energy suppliers, and electric utilities. He counsels his clients on a broad range of issues, including rulemakings and other proceedings before the regulatory agencies, and has assisted clients with a wide variety of commercial litigation issues before both federal and state courts from initial client interviews through trials and appeals.

Kelly Robreno Koster (White Plains) concentrates her practice in complex commercial, product liability, and labor and employment litigation. She has broad experience in representing clients in complex, multifaceted civil litigation. In addition, Koster provides services in employment litigation as well as litigation-preventive counseling for employers by reviewing and drafting personnel policies, handbooks, and other employment documentation. Koster previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jose L. Linares of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Morgan R. McCord (White Plains) focuses his practice on banking, financial services, consumer and commercial collections, and bankruptcy litigation. He represents banks, loan servicers, and other financial institutions through all phases of litigation involving diverse claims, and represents financial services institutions in defending matters arising under the full range of laws and statutes regulating the consumer finance industry. He also acts as outside general counsel to several prominent New York accounting firms and local businesses on a variety of issues.

Heather R. Olson (Philadelphia) concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial and product liability litigation. She has served on national and local counsel teams representing manufacturers of rheumatoid arthritis and weight-loss medications, antidepressants, antibiotics, NSAIDs, contrast dye, and oral contraceptives. She has extensive experience in defending claims in multidistrict litigation and coordination of mass tort proceedings, including pleading preparation, motion practice, and aspects of discovery such as fact development, analysis of product marketing issues, expert consultation, company witness preparation, and trial strategy.

Eric A. Sauter (White Plains) focuses his practice in the area of real estate finance, representing institutional and commercial lenders in closing real estate loans intended for sale in the secondary market with respect to multifamily and commercial properties, and in closing commercial permanent, interim, bridge, construction, and mezzanine loans. Sauter also has experience representing investment property owners, developers, lenders, buyers, and sellers in purchase/sales, leasing, financing, planning, and zoning matters.
