Andrew Worek, Veteran Health Care Defense Attorney, Joins Eckert Seamans

National law firm Eckert Seamans is pleased to announce the addition of Andrew K. Worek as a Member of its Professional Liability practice group in Philadelphia.

With a wealth of over 35 years of experience, Worek is a seasoned attorney specializing in defending healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice cases, including those involving emergency medicine, healthcare administration, and psychiatric malpractice. He defends clients in the trial courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and the state and federal appellate courts and has successfully defended clients at trial, mediation, and arbitration.

Worek’s clients span a wide spectrum, including hospitals, health systems, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, psychiatrists, and psychologists. He also defends physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists in licensure complaints and investigations related to clinical performance and allegations of ethical violations.

Worek previously served as in-house counsel for a large, Philadelphia-based health system, providing counsel on claims handling and internal health system operations. His experience as a pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force, has given him a unique perspective. He has participated in search and rescue operations and served as the Civil Air Patrol’s National Legal Officer, providing counsel to the organization and its Board of Governors. He also served as a firefighter and in fire rescue.

Worek is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He earned his J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from LaSalle University.
