Overview
Brett practices in the areas of municipal law, land use, and labor and employment. She focuses her practice on representing municipal and public sector clients who she advises on legal compliance, operational risk, governance, labor/employment, and strategic initiatives.
In her land use practice, Brett guides both public and private sector clients through the zoning and land development processes. Her practice further includes civil litigation and appellate advocacy, with frequent appearances before Pennsylvania appellate courts.
Brett has argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on behalf of a business client challenging a worker misclassification determination issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Office of Unemployment Compensation Tax Services.
In a stint outside of the private section, Brett served as counsel in the Governor’s Office of General Counsel for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she advised on regulatory compliance, policy development, litigation matters, and governance issues, including providing legal support to a board of directors.
