Overview
Bill Benzing helps municipal entities, school districts, charter schools, universities, colleges, and nonprofit organizations access the capital markets — serving as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, and trustee’s counsel across a wide range of public finance transactions. He also represents banks, financial advisors, and borrowers in hedging and derivative transactions, including interest rate swaps, caps, and foreign exchange arrangements.
Representative Matters
- Served as bond counsel to a municipal bond pool that has completed hundreds of transactions aggregating over $1 billion, providing access to capital markets for municipal entities across the five County Philadelphia area.
- Served as underwriter’s counsel to nationally recognized underwriting firms in public offerings, private placements, and Rule 144A transactions for public and private schools and public authorities.
- Counsel to national banks and credit unions in complex interest rate, foreign exchange, and commodities swap transactions — including novations, fixed and floating rate swaps, caps, terminations, and swaptions.
