Jay Julien Appointed to DreamYard Board of Directors
December 30, 2024
Jay Julien, an Associate based in the Washington, D.C. office of national law firm Eckert Seamans, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of DreamYard, a nonprofit that delivers arts-based programing to children and families in the Bronx.
Founded in 1994, DreamYard provides transformative arts and social justice education programming to Bronx youth and young adults in schools, after school, and during summer months, supporting them as they work towards higher learning and social action. Julien has been involved with DreamYard programs since the second grade and was among the first graduating class at DreamYard Preparatory High School.
“DreamYard has afforded me so many unique opportunities throughout my life, whether that was building my confidence on stage as the titular character Othello, providing me my first job experience in an office environment as a summer intern, or fully funding an art and history trip to Spain and Italy, which was my first time leaving the country,” said Julien. “DreamYard allowed me to make lifelong connections throughout my childhood, schooling, and career that have shaped and defined my personal story. I am incredibly honored to join their Board and have the opportunity for my life’s journey to come full circle by supporting young people from the communities I come from.”
At Eckert Seamans, Julien focuses his practice on aviation. He has experience assisting emerging airlines and a broad range of aviation and transportation industry clients. Julien assists clients with regulatory and compliance issues before DOT, FAA, TSA, CBP and USDA. He is also involved in the firm’s Infrastructure practice group, concentrating on federal and state grant research and writing, as well as alternative energy funding and municipal infrastructure.
