Eckert Seamans Welcomes Samantha McDowall

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Samantha McDowall to the firm’s White Plains, New York office. She focuses her practice on a wide variety of commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts.

Before joining Eckert Seamans, McDowall served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Pam B. Jackman Brown and the Honorable Joseph Risi of the Supreme Court of New York, Queens County, where she focused on commercial and general litigation matters. During her tenure in law school, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable Leonard B. Austin of the Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division — Second Department, and a summer law clerk in the United States Department of Commerce. Prior to law school, McDowall worked in the property and casualty insurance industry.

McDowall is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, and Association of Black Women Attorneys. In the community, she participated as a legal fellow for When We All Vote (2020), and as a reading and writing tutor for the Children of Promise NYC.

McDowall is admitted to practice in New York. She earned her J.D. from Hofstra University, Maurice A. Deane School of Law (2017). She was a member of the Moot Court Executive Board, President of the Black Law Students Association, and Treasurer of the National Black Law Students Association.  McDowall’s undergraduate degree is from Howard University (2011).
