Eckert Seamans Welcomes 2023 First-Year Associates Across Three Offices

National law firm Eckert Seamans has welcomed seven first-year associates across three of the firm’s offices, including Boston, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. The associates join Eckert Seamans after having completed the firm’s summer associate programs, as well as various clerkships and internships.

Boston
Julia Low joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group, after completing the firm’s summer associate program in 2021 and serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Frank M. Gaziano, Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. She focuses her practice on litigation matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts involving employment disputes, breach of contract, and general civil and commercial disputes.
Philadelphia
Nermeen Karyaquos joins the firm’s Professional Liability practice group following her experience as a summer associate in 2022. She concentrates her practice on professional liability matters, including defending professionals against claims of malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, and other claims of wrongdoing. Karyaquos also has experience working as a victim advocate at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office for five years.
Valerie Ramos joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group after completing the summer associate program in 2022. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, she served as a victim/witness coordinator in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, where she assisted victims of crimes with court notifications, accompaniment, requesting restitution, post-conviction notifications, pre-trial offers, and overall victim’s rights awareness.
Pittsburgh
William Betts joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group following his experience as a summer associate in 2021. Before joining the firm, he also served as a law clerk to the Honorable William Stickman, IV of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Benjamin Mantica joins the firm’s Construction and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice groups after completing the summer associate program in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a legal intern in the US. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he conducted research, drafted memoranda and motions concerning summary judgement, habeas corpus petitions, enforcing administrative subpoenas, and other civil and criminal matters.
Shannon Spence joins the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group following her experience has a summer associate in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, she also served as a judicial intern to The Honorable Lisa Lenihan in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Samantha Walter joins the firm’s Tax, Estates & Employee Benefits practice group after completing the summer associate program in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, she also served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Jackie Atherton Bernard of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas.
