National law firm Eckert Seamans continues its strategic growth by welcoming Michael Della Vecchia as an Associate in its Mass Tort Litigation practice in Pittsburgh. Della Vecchia brings a wealth of experience in trial advocacy and civil litigation to the firm.
As a seasoned trial attorney, Della Vecchia has successfully handled jury trials, arbitration proceedings, and motion hearings. His expertise extends to managing discovery depositions and expert witness depositions, with a strong track record in civil litigation and tort defense work in both state and federal courts.
Della Vecchia previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael A. Della Vecchia in the Civil Division of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, gaining valuable insights into judicial processes. Subsequently, he served as the Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Pittsburgh Department of Law, where he honed his skills in municipal law. In addition to his public sector experience, Della Vecchia spent several years as a defense attorney for a major insurance company, handling various high-stakes cases, including personal injury, property damage, and wrongful death actions in state and federal courts.
Actively engaged in the legal community, Della Vecchia serves on the Hearing Committee of the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board and is a member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. He also volunteers with the Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh and contributes to the Friends and Alumni Council of Emma Kaufmann Camp.
Della Vecchia earned his J.D. in 2010 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, preceded by his B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2007.
