Eckert Seamans Expands Employee Benefits Practice with Addition of Newark Member Lawrence J. Finnell

National law firm Eckert Seamans has welcomed Lawrence J. Finnell as a Member in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice group. He joins Eckert Seamans’ Newark office.

Finnell advises clients on a broad range of employee benefits issues pertaining to establishment, operation, administration, fiduciary aspects, and corporate governance matters related to tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation arrangements. He has extensive experience counseling clients with plan design, formation, and implementation matters, considering plan investment issues, correcting plan operational errors, and advising on fiduciary concerns. Finnell also counsels clients on the benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including plan mergers, freezes, spinoffs, and terminations, and assists clients during IRS and DOL plan audits and investigations.

Finnell also previously served as a Vice President – Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and as counsel at multiple law firms. He earned a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, an LL.M in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law, and a B.S. from The College of New Jersey.
