Eckert Seamans Attorneys Assist Philadelphia Homeowner on Pro Bono Basis

April 11, 2023

Two Philadelphia-based attorneys with national law firm Eckert Seamans recently assisted a local resident with a pro bono matter involving home ownership. Associate Michael Regan and Member Mark Vogelbacker assisted the client with obtaining ownership of the home he has lived in for over 15 years, which was in jeopardy after the death of his close friend and the home’s previous owner.

Throughout the months-long process, Regan and Vogelbacker led the client through the numerous steps needed to be named as the Executor of the estate, as well as securing a new deed that was accepted by the city and Register of Wills. The client received the title to his home in June 2022 and has therefore qualified for low-income housing assistance offered through the city.

The client was referred to the Eckert Seamans team through Philadelphia VIP, which is an organization that connects local attorneys with opportunities to provide pro bono legal representation to fellow Philadelphians facing legal threats to their housing, family, and income. Regan’s and Vogelbacker’s pro bono representation of local community members will continue, as they were recently engaged to represent an individual in a new matter referred to them through Philadelphia VIP.

The Eckert Seamans community takes pride in the firm’s long-standing dedication to serving the public through pro bono legal work, as well as community service, charitable giving, civic engagement, and service on boards and committees of nonprofit organizations. Each year, Eckert Seamans attorneys provide thousands of hours of pro bono legal services, with pro bono clients receiving the same high-level attention and dedication that the firm’s corporate clients have come to expect.
