Donna Y. Kramer Joins Eckert Seamans in Philadelphia

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Member (partner) Donna Y. Kramer to the firm’s Philadelphia office. Her practice focuses on the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in litigation involving alleged malpractice and/or negligence.

Kramer’s cases involve complex medical fact patterns, minor to catastrophic injuries, and substantial financial exposure. She represents clients at trial, mediation, and arbitration, and has successfully defended clients against claims involving alleged surgical negligence and misdiagnosis/failure to diagnose, among others. In addition, she provides risk management guidance and consultation services to chief executive officers, chief medical officers, and general counsel.

Prior to joining private practice, Kramer served as a law clerk for the Honorable Francine Lubow of the Queens County Family Court.

Active in the profession and the community, Kramer is a Professor at the Villanova University M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, teaching “Ethical and Legal Health Care Issues,” a course in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. She also serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Religious School Committee at Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.

Kramer joins Eckert Seamans from Post & Schell, P.C. and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. She earned her J.D. from the St. John’s University School of Law (1999), where she served as Notes and Comments Editor of the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University (1996).
