LaToya Winfield Bellamy, a Harrisburg-based Member with national law firm Eckert Seamans, has been recognized with the 2025 Lynette Norton Award by The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Commission on Women in the Profession (WIP). The award, which recognizes female attorneys who excel in litigation skills and who are devoted to mentoring young female lawyers, was created in memory of Lynette Norton, a founding member of the Commission who passed away in 2002.

“LaToya receiving the Lynette Norton Award is a testament to her unwavering commitment to mentoring the next generation of female attorneys, both within Eckert Seamans and beyond” said Michael McAuliffe Miller, Member-In-Charge of Eckert Seamans’ Harrisburg office. “Her dedication to enhancing the legal community is inspiring, and we are honored to celebrate her remarkable achievements.”

Bellamy focuses her law practice on providing business counseling, as well as municipal and administrative law-related services. She has a wide range of experience advising a variety of clients, including businesses, contractors, educational institutions, gaming industry entities, and municipal governments. Additionally, she advises on contracting, government regulatory issues, real estate, and other related matters.

Bellamy is the 2024-25 Assistant Secretary for the PBA Commission on Women in the Profession and previously served as Co-Chair of the PBA’s Minority Bar Committee, which works to develop programs to address the issues and concerns of minority lawyers and promote minority representation within the Bar and the profession. She also currently serves as a board member of the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority and AKA Foundation of Central Pennsylvania; as a Dean’s Diversity Advisory Board Member at Widener Law Commonwealth; and as Co-Chair of the Equal Professional Opportunity Committee of the Dauphin County Bar Association.

Norton was a founding member of the PBA’s Commission on Women in the Profession, who did much to significantly improve the status of women in the legal profession by her own personal professional excellence, as well as her untiring efforts to fight discrimination and help other female attorneys to succeed. The award was presented to Bellamy at Wednesday’s WIP Annual Conference as part of the PBA’s Annual Meeting.
