Eckert Seamans Appoints Matthew Goffe as Firmwide Chief Marketing Officer

National law firm Eckert Seamans has appointed Matthew T. Goffe to the role of firmwide Chief Marketing Officer. Goffe assumes the position having served in marketing, business development, and recruiting roles at the firm since 2022, most recently as Senior Director of Business Development and Attorney Recruiting.

Goffe has more than 16 years of experience in legal marketing, holding roles at previous Am Law 50 firms, including McGuireWoods, K&L Gates, and Reed Smith. At Eckert Seamans, he oversees the firmwide marketing and business development initiatives, working closely with firm leadership to drive client engagement, business development, communications, media relations, and marketing efforts. Additionally, Goffe oversees the firm’s attorney recruitment efforts, ensuring the strategic growth of the firm across all offices. Since Goffe’s arrival, Eckert Seamans has been nationally recognized in multiple legal industry publications, including being named among the top law firms with the most attorney business development enthusiasm, according to a survey conducted by BTI Consulting Group.

Goffe holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts in Corporate Communications from Duquesne University. He has held several leadership positions with the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), including most recently serving as Chair of the Pittsburgh Chapter for three years. In 2025, he will serve as President-Elect of the Association’s Northeast Regional Board.
