Overview

Mark Peterson serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer (COO/CFO), leading the firm’s administrative functions including Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, Real Estate & Facilities, and Library, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and strategic alignment across the firm. In addition, Mark directs the firm’s comprehensive financial strategy, encompassing financial reporting, analytics, cash management, budgeting, billing and collections, internal controls, audits, and tax compliance.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning finance, technology, and project management, Mark is a results-driven executive who consistently delivers strategic value. He excels at aligning business and financial objectives, optimizing enterprise resources, and providing critical guidance to firm leadership on complex operational and financial matters. Mark works closely with the firm’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors to ensure governance, transparency, and alignment with the firm’s long-term objectives.

Before joining Eckert Seamans, Mark served as Global Director of Financial Intelligence at an AmLaw 200 firm, where he deepened his expertise in law firm finance and technology. A recognized innovator in the legal sector, Mark combines deep financial acumen with advanced capabilities in data analytics and program management. His collaborative leadership style and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives have consistently resulted in streamlined operations and accelerated growth.

With three children in the Upper Saint Clair School District, Mark is an active member in the USC Youth Sports Program. He is a volunteer coach for soccer, basketball, and baseball, and is an active member of the PA Soccer West Association. When he isn’t on the field, Mark enjoys traveling with his wife and children, golfing and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
