Overview

Frederick Pierce is an Associate in the Boston office of Eckert Seamans, where he focuses his practice on Mass Tort and Commercial Litigation. Frederick represents leading corporations and insurers in high-stakes litigation, with a particular emphasis on asbestos defense, toxic torts, and complex industrial liability matters. In addition to his mass tort work, Frederick advises and defends clients in commercial disputes, including product and premises liability, insurance coverage, and other complex civil litigation issues. Known for his strategic insight and results-driven approach, Frederick is dedicated to helping clients navigate challenging litigation efficiently and effectively.

Before entering private practice, Frederick served as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the Connecticut Superior Court, judicial district of Fairfield. As a clerk, Frederick assisted numerous judges throughout Connecticut in drafting Superior Court decisions pertaining to administrative agency matters, as well as employment, real estate, contract, tort, and insurance law.  He also completed research projects for numerous judges and authored bench memoranda analyzing various legal issues presented at trial.

Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Frederick was an Associate at a nationally acclaimed insurance defense firm, where he handled cases involving major automobile manufacturers, national insurance carriers, and Fortune 500 companies.  Frederick earned his bachelor’s degree in government & politics and history from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018, and received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2022.  While at Suffolk Law, Frederick was a member of the nationally recognized Mock Trial Team and served as Chief Competition Director for the Moot Court Honor Board, which publishes the Journal of Trial & Appellate Advocacy.

Interests

Frederick was born and raised in Newton, MA and currently resides in Boston, MA.  Aside from the practice of law, Frederick is an avid skier and golfer, enjoys listening to music, traveling, and being active.  Frederick’s passion is alpine skiing; he is a former ski racer and enjoys helping others learn to ski and overcome fears.  One of Frederick’s favorite things about skiing is the camaraderie between individuals that organically occurs, whether making turns with old friends or conversing with new friends on the chairlift.  Frederick also enjoys attending concerts of various musical genres; his favorite bands are Phish, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Goose, and Greensky Bluegrass
