Overview
Max Lewkowski is a litigator in the defense of large manufacturers, corporations, and distributors in matters involving product liability, toxic tort, mass tort, commercial litigation, breach of contract, real estate litigation, employment law, and general liability. Max’s practice serves New Jersey and New York state and federal courts, as well as the Northern District of Illinois, where he assists in the defense of a prominent cosmetic company in a Multi-District Litigation for Hair Relaxer Marketing, Sales, Practices, and Products Liability.
Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Max served as a litigator at a national product liability defense firm and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Geiger, J.A.D., in the New Jersey Appellate Division. While in law school, Max served as an intern for several judges, including the Honorable Renee Marie Bumb of the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Lee Solomon of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Representative Matters
- Serves on the defense team in In RE: Hair Relaxer Marketing, Sales Practices, And Products Liability Litigation, No. 1:2023cv00818.
- Represented pharmaceutical companies in defense of allegations that clients’ talc powder was contaminated by asbestos.
- Represented construction contractor in defense of breach of contract claim by building owner alleging client’s breach caused asbestos and debris infiltration and year-long shutdown and remediation in excess of $2 million.
- Attained favorable results for employer in defense of lawsuits by several employees for wrongful termination, employment discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid overtime and wages.
