Overview

Jen Adams Shepler has built a national practice representing hotel owners, developers, investors, and management companies across a wide range of hospitality and real estate asset classes, including hotels, RV parks, industrial sites, and multi-family properties, in transactions throughout the United States. A trusted advisor on all aspects of hotel acquisitions, dispositions, franchise agreements, and management contracts, Jen brings a practical, business-minded approach to complex deals, guiding clients from letter of intent through closing and beyond. With more than twenty years of experience at the table, Jen is equally committed to pulling up a chair for the next generation — serving as Co-Chair of the Women’s Initiative at Eckert (WIE), where she leads programming that supports and elevates women in the legal profession.

Representative Matters

• Advises U.S. investment trusts and other hotel developers and owners on the acquisition and disposition of full-service and limited-service hotels nationwide, managing all aspects of the transaction from purchase and sale agreements through closing and subsequent financings.
• Serves as outside general counsel for hospitality clients, fielding and advising on day-to-day operational, employment, and contractual matters— providing the continuity of in-house counsel with the breadth of a full-service firm.
• Negotiates franchise agreements on behalf of hotels owners with major franchisors throughout the United States.
• Represents leading management companies in connection with negotiating management agreements, service contracts, and other ancillary documents.
• Assists with the financing of various hotel portfolios for investment trusts and other commercial property.
• Represents tenants in common in connection with the sale of a U.S. hotel.
• Represents investors in the acquisition of RV Parks across the U.S.
