Overview

Jason Harness represents clients in asbestos and other chemical-related litigation matters in state and federal courts. He has experience representing clients in various phases of trial, including pre-trial conferences, exhibit preparation, document productions, discovery responses, drafting motions for summary judgment and summary adjudication, and conducting cross-examinations in depositions.

Representative Matters

  • Defended clients in asbestos litigation in depositions related to brakes, mufflers, gaskets and hot metal typesetting presses.
  • Conducted cross-examinations at depositions in mesothelioma and lung cancer cases in New York and New Jersey.
  • Co-managed privilege log and document production related to Civil Investigative Demand by Department of Justice involving alleged fraud and money laundering.
  • Managed document productions as National Counsel related to discovery requests and in depositions of the client’s Person Most Knowledgeable.

Community Involvement

Jason is an Assistant Scout Master in Scouting America working with Troop 280, an all-girl troop in Chatham, New Jersey.  Jason has been involved in scouting over the past 11 years.

Interests

Jason coached 40 recreational youth and travel softball and baseball teams for over a decade with the Summit Junior Baseball and Softball Association. Other than watching his daughter play competitive softball at the club and high school level, Jason finds time to run. Jason has run ten marathons in six states. Jason and his wife are also season-ticket holders of the New York Jets.
