Overview
Eric Losey focuses his practice on defending personal injury, property damage, and environmental cases, including asbestos, mass tort, and product liability litigation. He represents a diverse range of clients in asbestos litigation across the country in both state and federal courts, from Fortune 500 manufacturing corporations and multinational companies to smaller regional businesses. Eric has extensive knowledge in handling complex litigation at all stages, from pre-suit evaluation through discovery disputes, corporate and expert depositions, trial, and verdict.
In addition, Eric has significant experience and passion for working with foreign entities, particularly Korean-based businesses seeking to enter the United States market. He represents various corporate clients, including start-ups as well as established companies involved in life sciences and manufacturing, facilitating Eckert Seamans’ role as outside general counsel. Eric leads these efforts by providing business counseling and intellectual property advice, addressing the unique needs of each client through the comprehensive subject matter expertise of a full-service law firm.
Representative Matters
- National coordinating counsel for an international company in asbestos litigation matters. Prepares cohesive litigation defense strategies in close collaboration with in house counsel, corporate witnesses, expert witnesses and local counsel.
- Regional counsel from mid-Atlantic to New England for large publicly traded manufacturing company in asbestos litigation matters, overseeing all litigation from inception to conclusion.
- Guided complex litigation against county Registry of Deeds to ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.
- Serves as outside General Counsel for multi-million-dollar company with international business.
- Obtained appellate victory following an initial denial of motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction for French client sued in a deadly elevator incident in Brooklyn, NY that received coverage in the local, national, and international press.
- Secured pre-discovery dismissal for a foreign company in a Massachusetts asbestos matter due to lack of personal jurisdiction, saving the client significant litigation costs.
- Facilitated acquisition of a decades-old, family-owned coffee roasting company.
- Second-chaired commercial eviction trial to verdict, securing a win for Fortune 500 Company.

Interests
Eric takes great pride in the Korean heritage that is an integral part of his family. He embraces these traditions with his wife, son, and in-laws, incorporating their Korean roots into both his personal and professional life. Eric is dedicated to continuously learning about Korean culture and others, and cherishing these traditions through his travels, both locally and internationally, often guided by the rich variety of restaurant menus. In addition to his cultural pursuits, Eric enjoys staying active by golfing, snowboarding, and hiking.
