Laura Fein Organizes Harvard University Summit “Crisis on Campus: Antisemitism, Zionism, and the Future of Higher Education”
September 24, 2024
Laura Fein recently organized a major, sold-out summit at Harvard University, “Crisis on Campus: Antisemitism, Zionism, and the Future of Higher Education,” attended by 1,000 Harvard alumni, deans, students, and faculty as well as community members, many traveling from across the US, England, and Israel to attend. The event featured a lineup of high-profile speakers, including Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, author Dara Horn, Israel spokesperson Eylon Levy, former Knesset Member Einat Wilf, recent graduate Shabbos Kestenbaum, the Israel Consul General Benny Sharoni, 10/7 memories from Avigail and Gavriel Gimpel, and many students and University representatives. Harvard President Alan Garber and other high-ranking university officials attended a private pre-summit brunch.
The Harvard Jewish Alumni Alliance, in cooperation with Chabad at Harvard and Harvard Hillel and in solidarity with partner organizations at other universities, hosted the summit. Laura was the event chairperson and was responsible for the summit, from its initial idea and fundraising (she raised approximately $100,000 in sponsorships) to its final execution, leading a group of about 20 Harvard alumni.
Congratulations to Laura on her critical role in this successful Harvard summit, which is further detailed in the media coverage linked below:
