Eckert Seamans Team Secures Victory for Philadelphia Pro Bono Client in Personal Injury Case

May 16, 2023

A team of Philadelphia-based attorneys from national law firm Eckert Seamans successfully represented a client in a personal injury case that spanned three years of litigation. The Eckert Seamans team included Brooke Scicchitano and Alaina Wartman.

The pro bono case involved a personal injury action in which plaintiffs claimed injuries and future medical expenses. The matter was initiated by plaintiffs in 2020 against numerous defendants, including a defendant referred to the Eckert Seamans team by Philadelphia VIP. After three years of litigation, the plaintiffs agreed to discontinue their action against the defendant after the team outlined through discovery that the client owed no duty to the plaintiffs.

The client was referred to the Eckert Seamans attorneys through Philadelphia VIP, which is an organization that connects local attorneys with opportunities to provide pro bono legal representation to fellow Philadelphians facing legal threats to their housing, family, and income.

The Eckert Seamans community takes pride in the firm’s long-standing dedication to serving the public through pro bono legal work, as well as community service, charitable giving, civic engagement, and service on boards and committees of nonprofit organizations. Each year, Eckert Seamans attorneys provide thousands of hours of pro bono legal services, with pro bono clients receiving the same high-level attention and dedication that the firm’s corporate clients have come to expect.
