Eckert Seamans Represents Energy Steel & Supply Co. in Acquisition of Joseph Oat Intellectual Property and Brand

October 1, 2026

Eckert Seamans Corporate, M&A and Securities Chair Ernie Holtzheimer and Associate Erika Miller represented Energy Steel & Supply Co., a subsidiary of Avingtrans plc (LON: AVG), in its acquisition of the intellectual property, brand, and related assets of Joseph Oat Corporation, a U.S. nuclear engineering specialist based in Camden, NJ.

Joseph Oat has served the nuclear industry for decades, supplying critical components to major industry participants and establishing a substantial base of installed equipment requiring ongoing service and replacement parts. The acquisition expands Avingtrans’ ability to support equipment operating at U.S. power plants and other industrial facilities. The transaction also broadens Avingtrans’ engineered product portfolio and access to qualified AP1000 reactor components.

Based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, Energy Steel has served the nuclear industry since 1982, providing equipment fabrication, material supply, machining, engineering, and repair services. Its capabilities include custom fabrication and solutions for replacing obsolete equipment and components. Avingtrans acquired Energy Steel in 2019 as part of its expansion in the nuclear sector.

The recent acquisition complements Avingtrans’ existing U.S. nuclear operations through Energy Steel and Hayward Tyler, supporting opportunities across new nuclear facilities, fusion, plant life extension, and decommissioning.
