February 15, 2023

Stephen M. Foxman, a Member at national law firm Eckert Seamans, will be honored with the 2022 Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award by The Business Law Section of The Philadelphia Bar Association. Established in 1997, the annual award recognizes Replansky’s career as a lawyer and his contributions to legal, civic, religious, and other charitable causes. Foxman will receive the award at the Section’s annual reception on February 16, 2023.

Replansky, a former Business Law Section Chair of the Bar Association, was a 51-year-old senior partner at Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley when he died in March 1994. The award honors an individual with similar qualities, who has shown superior talent in the area of business law and made unique contributions and significant achievements within the business law community in Philadelphia.

Foxman began his practice as a corporate and securities lawyer and has over the years expanded his experience to include real estate, employment, franchise, and computer and intellectual property law. He notably represented the Reading Company in one of Philadelphia’s largest commercial real estate transactions – the sale of the Reading trainshed, Reading Terminal Market, and Headhouse to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority. Foxman also advises technology companies, including startups, on seed capital investments, venture capital financing, and technology licensing transactions, among many other business matters.

“The Eckert Seamans community is excited to congratulate Steve on this well-deserved recognition,” said Timothy Q. Hudak, Chief Executive Officer of Eckert Seamans. “Steve has made countless contributions to the city of Philadelphia and to our entire firm throughout his career, and we are thrilled he is receiving this prestigious honor.”

Foxman has held numerous leadership positions within The Philadelphia Bar Association, including serving as former Chair of the Business Law Section; former Member of the Board of Governors; former Chair of the E-Commerce Law Committee; and former Executive Committee Member of the Business Law and Real Property Sections. He earned his B.S. cum laude from The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Additionally, he was named Philadelphia “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Securities / Capital Markets Law by The Best Lawyers in America in 2015 and 2022.

Foxman is an integral part of Eckert Seamans’ Philadelphia office, which was recognized in January as one of the top-30 largest law firms in the region by the Philadelphia Business Journal
