Employment lawyer Renee Mattei Myers chatted with KDKA Newsradio 1020 about the legality of firing an employee because they refuse to return to the office. “Employers may have to re-evaluate the way in which work gets done, and look at what is working (or not working) on a case-by-case basis,” Mattei Myers said. “For example, you might be willing to make exceptions for some individuals and not others based on their job duties, their tenure with the organization, the value they add to the organization, or perhaps a skill that is going to be difficult to replace,” she added.
