Some businesses want masks on, even as states drop mandates
April 5, 2021
Employment lawyer Michael Jones spoke with The Associated Press about business owners keeping public health rules in place in their establishments, even as 18 states currently have no mask requirements, including some that never made face coverings mandatory. “Storeowners, business owners have the absolute right to require customers, vendors, anyone who comes onto their property to wear a mask,” Jones says. It’s legal as long as owners don’t enforce their requirements in a discriminatory way, he told the AP.
The Associated Press story appeared in numerous regional and national news outlets, including ABC News, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Seattle Times, NBC10-Boston, and Yahoo Finance.
