Renee Mattei Myers talks with WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh
April 7, 2021
Employment lawyer Renee Mattei Myers appeared on WTAE-TV Hearst Pittsburgh to discuss whether local colleges will mandate COVID-19 vaccination for students to attend class in-person, on campus in the fall. “Colleges and universities have been mandating vaccines for a long time in all types of situations,” Mattei Myers said. “Meningitis is a big one because it can be so devastating. It’s easily contracted, highly contagious in these types of close settings.”
If universities mandate vaccination, it will not be for everyone. “These universities still have to make exceptions for individuals and potential accommodations for those who are unable to be vaccinated,” Mattei Myers said, which could mean keeping a student off-campus or out of the dorms.
