Overview
Mike Regan works closely with his clients throughout the various stages of complex, civil litigation. By engaging in a thoughtful, results-oriented approach, he has helped his clients navigate the complexities of civil litigation and reach not only favorable resolutions but, also, secure important wins along the way.
Mike has experience representing a diverse group of clients spanning a number of industries, with a particular emphasis on the defense of food and flavoring manufacturers and insurance companies involving failure to warn claims in complex product liability cases. He also has an interest and experience in both transactional and litigation matters involving the protection and defense of copyrighted works, patents, and trademarks.
In his role as a trusted advisor to his clients, Mike has experience working directly with his clients’ in-house legal team. In addition, he has experience drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery, engaging in motion practice, and has deposed witnesses and helped prepare his clients personnel to give testimony in a deposition. Mike also has assisted with trial preparation, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
Mike has extensive experience counseling clients through the discovery process, including designing and implementing an action plan to meet their discovery obligations while maintaining the integrity of his clients’ sensitive, proprietary information and materials.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Mike was employed by a global financial institution and with a start-up company in the financial tech sector. This experience has given Mike valuable insight into the inner workings of companies of varying degrees of size.
Representative Matters
- Served as national defense counsel for an international food and flavoring manufacturer in cases alleging occupational exposure injuries resulting from alleged worker exposure to the products supplied by the manufacturer.
- Engaged to represent a patent owner in a case seeking to enforce the provisions of various patents that is currently pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
- Assisted in the representation of a patent owner seeking to enforce the provisions of a patent against an alleged infringer before the International Trade Commission.
- Assisted with the defense and mediation of novel claims against a multi-national insurance company that sought to hold the insurer liable for alleged injuries suffered by workers as a result of asbestos exposure.
- Engaged to defend a client in the retail goods industry in a case filed in federal court claiming various violations under the Copyright Act and Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
- Represented an insurance industry client in federal court litigation asserting claims of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and false advertising under the Lanham Act, along with various state law claim.
- Served as defense counsel in a copyright infringement suit representing defendant client in the hospitality industry against a photographer claiming infringing use of photographs supplied to defendant.
Pro Bono Matters
- Successfully probated the estate of a Philadelphia woman through the city’s Register of Wills, which resulted in a local Philadelphia man acquiring title to the property where he has resided for over 15 years, allowing him to access various city initiatives and grants available to low-income Philadelphia homeowners.
- Engaged to represent a low-income individual in an arbitration matter resulting from the consolidation of separate personal injury cases in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys experimenting in his kitchen with different recipes, spices and ingredients to create new entrees for his family and friends to enjoy. Michael credits his passion for cooking to his mother, with whom he still trades recipes.
When Michael is not in his kitchen preparing dishes, he enjoys playing golf, skiing and softball. Michael is also an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers and Villanova Men’s Basketball fan.
