Overview

Jian Manganti focuses her practice on a broad range of corporate transactions within the hospitality industry. Her practice is devoted to representing hotel owners and third-party hotel operators in drafting and negotiating agreements related to the management, licensing, and purchase and sale of hotel assets.

Prior to joining private practice, Jian served as legal intern for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and the City of Pittsburgh Law Department. During her time at Pitt Law, Jian was a certified legal intern in the Environmental Law Clinic where she assisted clients with various land-use issues. She also served as a legal fellow in the Pitt Law Post Graduate Fellowship Matching Program, where she assisted with business and non-profit entity formation and various transactional matters.

Representative Matters

  • Served on legal due diligence review team for client hotel operator’s acquisition of management agreements and related assets from a competitor operator of a national portfolio of over 70 upper-midscale and upscale hotels across all major hotel brands.
  • Serves on various counsel teams to provide supporting role in hotel acquisition and sale transactions for various clients. 
  • Prepares and executes hotel management agreements and other hotel operations-related documents for various hotel management companies.

Awards and Recognition:

While in law school, Jian received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Commercial Transactions and FDA Law and Policy. She also received 2nd place for the William H. Eckert Prize for outstanding upper-level writing for a paper entitled “Empowering the FDA to Regulate Alternative Medicine Products.”
