Overview

Eckert Seamans is saddened to announce the passing of Arnold B. Silverman (September 1, 1937 – November 19, 2020).

Arnie’s contributions to Eckert Seamans, the profession, and our community are almost too numerous to catalog. Eckert Seamans has lost a friend and dear colleague, and everyone will greatly miss his warm and gracious spirit.

During this difficult time, we share our condolences and support with Arnie’s wife of 60 years, Susan, sons Michael and Lee, and two grandchildren.

Arnie Silverman specialized in intellectual property law for more than 50 years. He advised clients from a broad range of industries, including higher education, on such matters as patent, trademark, copyright, trade secrets, technology licensing, infringement disputes, intellectual property litigation, and other United States and foreign intellectual property matters.

Arnie served as chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group for nearly 15 years and authored nearly 100 articles on patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and trade secrets.
