Eckert Seamans welcomes Cody T. Murphey as an associate in the firm’s Richmond office and Litigation Division

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Cody T. Murphey as an associate in the firm’s Richmond office and Litigation Division. He focuses his practice in commercial litigation, including matters related to regulated and non-regulated utilities.

Prior to joining Eckert Seaman, Cody served as an assistant attorney general in the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, where he represented the interests of utility consumers before the State Corporation Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He also served as a judicial law clerk with the Honorable Joi Jeter Taylor and the Honorable M. Reilly Marchant of the Richmond Circuit Court.

Murphey earned his J.D. in 2015 from the West Virginia University School of Law, where he served as executive research editor of the West Virginia Law Review. He earned his B.A. in 2012 from Hampden-Sydney College.
