Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Member (partner) Michael Horner to the firm’s Boston office. His practice has involved corporate finance, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions, both in private practice and as in-house counsel.

In the private sector, Horner’s experience has involved leading teams across various disciplines, including operations, corporate governance, legal, finance, banking, and compliance.

Before joining private practice, Horner served in the US Army, including assignments with Special Operations Command, overseeing a team of 25 officers and over 100 enlisted personnel, and commanded operations in countries worldwide.

“Michael’s proven leadership and his extensive experience in corporate finance, private equity deals, and M&A will greatly benefit our clients and make him an exceptional addition to our firm and our Boston office,” said Peter F. Carr, II, Member-in-Charge of Eckert Seamans’ Boston office.

“I thrive on working as a part of an engaged team on complex and dynamic projects in fast-paced environments, so I know the firm will be a natural fit,” Horner said. “It is clear that Eckert Seamans will provide a unique opportunity for me to add value.”

Horner, who joins from Morrison & Foerster, earned his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Illinois. Horner is active in the community through volunteer work with Boston Cares.
