The Legal Intelligencer names white-collar attorney David Laigaie as one of the “Top Lateral Hires of 2013”

David M. Laigaie, Eckert Seamans Member in the firm’s Philadelphia office, was named to The Legal Intelligencer’s annual roundup of the top lateral hires of the year. The list recognizes those who had a significant impact on their departing firms, were a big coup for their new employers, created a lot of buzz in the community when they made a move, or all of the above.
Laigaie, who was previously a partner at Dilworth Paxson, joined Eckert Seamans as a Member and head of the firm’s corporate investigations and white-collar defense practice.
The Legal wrote, “Laigaie said he saw an opportunity at Eckert Seamans to join a larger firm with a wider geographical reach. . . According to Laigaie, Eckert Seamans expressed a vision of having the firm’s white-collar practice based in Philadelphia. Laigaie, who focuses a large part of his practice on representing health care providers, had said Philadelphia is the “most rational” place to headquarter the practice because “most of or a good portion of government enforcement efforts are up and down the Eastern Seaboard.
