Eckert Seamans welcomes Pia F. Aklian to Philadelphia office

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome associate Pia F. Aklian to its Philadelphia office and financial transactions and business counseling practices. She is experienced in negotiating and drafting complex corporate and commercial transactions and has worked on a broad range of corporate matters including shareholder agreements, equity/venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions/due diligence, strategic partnerships, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements, and licensing agreements.

Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Aklian served as general manager and in-house counsel to a mobile enterprise software company, which provided her with valuable insight as to the legal and business needs of the corporation.  She also served as a judicial law clerk for the Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel.

Aklian is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the Widener University School of Law, where she served on the Widener Law Journal. In law school, she received the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court Award for excellence in Administrative Law and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and winner of the Widener Law Moot Court Competition. Aklian earned her M.S. in Law, Policy, and Society from Northeastern University Graduate School and her B.A. with honors in Political Science from Brandeis University.
