Eckert Seamans Attorney Named Chair of Pro Bono Committee for Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference
The national law firm Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today announced
that attorney Gary D. Bressler, a Member of the Bankruptcy &
Restructuring Department in the firm’s Philadelphia office, was recently
elected to serve as chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the Eastern District of
Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference (EDPABC).
The EDPABC is an organization which provides educational programming and
networking opportunities for lawyers, other professionals and paraprofessionals
who concentrate in the practice of Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights law in the
Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bressler’s areas of practice include business bankruptcy and
insolvency. He has represented Secured Creditors, Equity Security Holders’
Committees, Creditors’ Committees, Chapter 11 Debtors and Chapter 7
Trustees. In addition to his current role as chair of the Pro Bono
committee, Mr. Bressler has served on various committees of the EDPABC,
including the Local Rules Committee, the Steering Committee and was also the
co-chair of the Education Committee. He also served as the Secretary to
the Committee for the Enhancement of the Bankruptcy Process. Active in the
profession, Mr. Bressler is also a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar associations,
American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association and the
National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He has lectured extensively,
including sitting on an American Bar Association Bankruptcy Panel, held in
conjunction with the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, and twice on
panels at the EDPABC Annual Forum. Mr. Bressler has served in numerous
leadership positions with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and was
president of the University Television Alumni Association of the University of Pennsylvania. He received his J.D.
from Villanova University School of Law, cum laude, and his undergraduate
degree from the University of Pennsylvania, cum laude. Mr.
Bressler is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the United States
Court of Appeals for the Third & Sixth Circuits; United States District
Court for the Eastern District and the United States District Court for the
Middle District of Pennsylvania.
