Eckert Seamans Adds Attorneys in Pittsburgh Office

The national law firm of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today announced that attorneys Jennifer L. Caviness, Erin L. Pearson, and Matthew J. Whipple have joined the firm as Associates. 

Jennifer L. Caviness joins as an Associate in the firm’s Business Division.  She concentrates her practice in tax and employee benefits.  Ms. Caviness earned her masters of law in taxation from Northwestern Law School in 2007.  She earned her law degree from Tulane Law School in 2006, where she was a member of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.  Ms. Caviness is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. 

Erin L. Pearson joins as an Associate in the Business Division.  She focuses her practice on general corporate issues and real estate.  Ms. Pearson earned her law degree, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2007, where she was a member of Law Review.  She was also a Burks Scholar and taught research and legal citations to first year law students.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Political Science from Seton Hill University in 2004, where she ranked first in her class, received Second Place Keystone Press Award in the Editorial Division and received a journalism scholarship from the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh. 

Matthew J. Whipple is an Associate in the Litigation Division.  He focuses his practice on general commercial litigation issues.  Mr. Whipple earned his law degree from the William and Mary School of Law in 2007, where he was a member of the Editorial Board for the Law Review, earned honors in Legal Skills, and was a graduate research fellow.  He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004, where he graduated summa cum laude, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society, and was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
