Eckert Seamans Attorney Named Massachusetts Super Lawyers "Rising Star"

The national law firm Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today announced that Peter F. Carr, II, a member of the firm in its Boston office, has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2007 by Massachusetts Super Lawyers magazine and Law & Politics.  Selection is determined through the independent research of Law & Politics magazine.  Attorneys chosen must be 40 years old or younger or have practiced law for 10 years or less.

According to Law & Politics, only 2.5 percent of Massachusetts attorneys are honored as “Rising Stars.”  The Rising Stars list is published each year in the May issue of Boston magazine and in Massachusetts Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Edition.

“Being recognized and chosen by peers as a top attorney in the state is a tremendous achievement.  Peter is a zealous and effective advocate for firm clients.  We congratulate Peter in receiving this well-earned honor,” said Anthony Moccia, the Member in Charge of the Boston office of Eckert Seamans.

Peter F. Carr, II, is a member in the Litigation Division of the Boston office of Eckert Seamans.  Since joining the firm in 1995, Mr. Carr has developed an active trial practice, and appears regularly before courts to represent clients on a variety of litigation matters.  His practice focuses on commercial and business litigation.  In addition, Mr. Carr counsels companies and organizations on such matters as employment disputes, discharge matters, internal policies and procedures, and general liability concerns.  Mr. Carr also has an active practice representing independent private schools.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Carr served as law clerk to Chief Justice Joseph P. Warner of the Massachusetts Appeals Court.  Mr. Carr received his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law, cum laude, and his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Bates College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
