Course Description:
Kirk Houser will discuss patentable subject
matter, the standards for patentability, patent term, infringement and other
basic issues in patent law.
Dave Radack will discuss what is a
trademark. Clearance and proper usage of trademarks.
Strength of marks. How to obtain federal trademark
registration. Infringement of trademarks.
Phil Levy will discuss copyright and trade secret
issues, including copyrightable subject matter, acquisition and registration of
copyrights, infringement of copyrights, what constitutes a trade secret, how
trade secrets differ from patents, and trade secret
infringement.
