Raymond C. Vogliano is Chair of the firm’s Tax and Estates & Trusts practice groups.

Mr. Vogliano represents clients on a wide variety of tax, business, and estate and trust matters.  He has extensive experience in structuring merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions involving partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations.  Mr. Vogliano’s estate and trust practice includes sophisticated planning, administration and family business counseling on tax minimization strategies and wealth succession issues.  He also frequently represents individual and business clients in tax controversy matters before federal, state and local taxing authorities and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Vogliano has served for several years as an attorney-adviser to the Low Income Tax Practicum at Duquesne University School of Law and is an adjunct professor in the Masters in Taxation Program at Duquesne University Graduate School of Business.  He is a frequent speaker on tax and estate planning topics before professional, civic and charitable organizations and is the co-author of Successful Wealth Transfer Techniques in Pennsylvania (National Business Institute, 2000) and Advanced Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships in Pennsylvania (Lorman Educational Services, 2005).

Mr. Vogliano received his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law, where he received academic achievement awards in tax law and corporations, and received his undergraduate degree from Waynesburg College.  He is a licensed certified public accountant in Pennsylvania and holds the chartered financial consultant designation from The American College. 

Mr. Vogliano is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations and is a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.  He is a former Treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association, past Chairman of its Taxation Section and currently serves as Chair of the ACBA Audit Committee.  Mr. Vogliano serves as vice president and treasurer of the St. Thomas More Society, is the former President of the Pittsburgh Tax Club and is an active member in the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh.  He chairs the financial council at his church, is secretary of the Richard S. Caliguiri Amyloidosis Research Fund Committee, Inc. and is a member of the Board of Directors of Chartiers Country Club.

Mr. Vogliano is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He and his wife Karen make their home in Carnegie with their three children, Allen, Lauren and Jessica.

He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for tax law, Madison’s Who’s Who of Professionals and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.  He holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
