Dean F. Richardson is a Member of the firm and is Vice Chairman of the Public Finance Department.
Mr. Richardson has been practicing public finance for over 20 years and represents issuers, underwriters, trustees, lenders, private businesses and developers in municipal bond offerings and other types of financings. He represents clients on all types of financing transactions (both tax-exempt and taxable) including projects for all types of municipalities, as well as transactions for schools, single-family housing, multi-family housing, continuing care and assisted living facilities, hospitals, redevelopment areas, water and sewer system facilities, solid waste disposal facilities, tax increment financings, stadium and arena facilities, convention centers, higher education facilities, transportation facilities, parking facilities and industrial facilities.
He also represents clients in transactions involving derivative financial products such as interest rate swaps, hedges and collars, as well as swaptions and forward bond purchase transactions.
Mr. Richardson also advises clients on work-outs, debt restructurings and bankruptcies relating to public financings. Experience in this area has included providing advice on debt relating to an airport facility, a hospital health system, nursing and assisted living facilities, and multi-family housing facilities.
Mr. Richardson represents a number of public clients, including mass transit agencies, on complex foreign and domestic structured asset lease transactions. These have included cross-border lease transactions, lease in/lease out transactions and sale/lease back transactions.
He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for public finance law. He holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
