Bernadine J. Munley is a Member of the firm in the Litigation Division. Ms. Munley concentrates her practice on both labor and employment and intellectual property litigation matters.Ms. Munley has counseled clients on a variety of issues arising out of the employer-employee relationship, primarily focusing on defending employers in age, race and gender discrimination cases. She has litigated cases in the federal courts and before the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Ms. Munley has also advised employers on the hiring, discipline and firing of employees, and has also provided sensitivity and management training.
Ms. Munley's intellectual property litigation practice includes trademark, trade dress, misappropriation, trade secret, and unfair competition matters. She has handled cases in state and federal courts and before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Ms. Munley's professional associations include the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where she was selected as a member of its Leadership Institute, the Judicial Selection and Administration committees, and currently serves as the Secretary of the Commission on Women in the Profession. She is also a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Ms. Munley serves on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Amoore Group. She is a member of the Forum of Executive Women. From 2000 to 2005 she served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware River Port Authority and the Port Authority Transit Corporation.
The Philadelphia Business Journal honored Ms. Munley with its annual “40 Under 40” Award, which recognizes forty individuals who have become leaders in their respective professional fields and communities. In 2005, she received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Philadelphia Magazine for her dedication and commitment to the community. She also received the MS Leadership Award.
